SENIOR PASTOR,
MICHAEL PRECIADO

Michael Preciado was born and raised in Los Angeles County. He converted to Protestantism from the Roman Catholic Church as a young adult. Since his conversion, he has been interested in examining how Christianity, when compared to all other life philosophies provides the only coherent framework for making sense of our lives and the world. This interest in apologetics (the defense of the faith) led him to obtain a B. A. in philosophy at California State University, Fullerton, followed by an M. A. in philosophy from California State University, Long Beach.

He then went on to complete an M. Div. from Westminster Seminary in California. To support his philosophy and theology habits, he also obtained a Teaching Credential in English and spent years teaching High School English to incarcerated youth at Juvenile Hall. He is currently working on his PhD in philosophical theology at the University of Aberdeen through Highland Theological College.

Michael has served Christ Church Presbyterian since it was planted in 2005. He was part of the original Steering Committee that set up and governed the mission church, and served as Ruling Elder, and then Associate Pastor, before becoming the Senior Pastor at the church.

Michael and his wife, Alexandra, have one son and reside in Irvine, CA.
